Osmeña PeaK to Kawasan Falls

We are not members of any Mountaineering Group we just LOVE to taste the creation of GOD and our destination: Mantalongon to Osmeña Peak traversing Kawasan Falls(Badian Cebu)

Entry point: Mantalongon Market, Dalaguete, Cebu
Exit point: Brgy. Matutinao, Badian, Cebu
Days required / Trek time: 1-2 days / 1-2 hours (summit) 4-5 hours (falls)
Specs: Minor Climb, Difficulty 3/9, Trail Class 1-2

Osmeña Peak is located in the Municipality of Dalaguete in the province of Cebu. The peak is approximately 1,000 meters above sea level making it the highest peak in the island of Cebu.

HOW TO GET THERE:
Dalaguete is about 85 kilometers from Cebu City and is about 2 ½ hours ride by bus from the city.
You should take the buses travelling southwards to Oslob or Bato via Dalaguete and get off at the Dalaguete junction.
From there, you can take a motorcycle(habal-habal) for hire that will take you to Mantalogon's Public Market and hike directly to Osmeña Peak that will take you at least one to two hours.

just arrived at the public market(6:00PM)and we are on our way now to the PEAK with the raindrops

arrived at the camp site 8:00 PM and we are now preparing for hour dinner

 "SOCIALS"

the PEAK --climbers are not allowed to camp on that area because it is too dangerous

The peak area is privately owned and has been fenced which means it is safe to camp on the peak.
FYI: A lot keeper collects Php20 from each climber that enters the area.

We had our BEST POSE on the peak itself

from the PEAK you could see the campsite with our BAGS all packed up.
preparing our breakfast (look what happened on our oil inside the nature spring bottle)
had my final pose before leaving the peak (9:00am)
along the way to Kawasan Falls you could see cabbages
so you must watch your way so as not to step on the cabbages
from the PEAK to the BASKETBALL area(where we will take our LUNCH) this is the only watersource so you must have enough water ready from the peak.

on this area you could (supposedly) see a huge mountain at the back of us but the FOG was covering it

just arrived at the basketball area exactly time for LUNCH 11:00am we had HUMBA but we were unable to take pictures on it because we were all busy eating.,lol

time of departure from this area is 1:00pm so we were able to take a nap

5:00pm we safely arrived at KAWASAN FALLS main source, we have 1hour to take a swim before it gets dark out here.

We all decided to camp here and stay for the night while waiting for the first trip bus(2:00am) going back to the city.

11:00 pm we were awaken by two of our companion because according to them drunk people from the fiesta were passing by and they were afraid that we will be harmed by them (we were just taking precautions of course) and aside from the drunk people they also saw a shadow of a man sitting on the bridge which is made of bamboo. We were all laughing after hearing this because for sure their minds were just pre-occupied from the ghost stories of kawasan.
1:00 am we reached the highway and were palying dead for the success of our trekking.
another 1 hour nap while waiting for the first trip bus

3:30 am we arrived at the city safely

Like most traditions, we welcome a new year with fireworks, alcoholic beverages, loud music and other forms of noisemaking. But for a lady who LOVES adventure, I chose to welcome my YEAR 2010 with a Fabulous Zip-line at Doce Pares Busay-Malubog Cebu, Philippines

The Shuttle ride takes 8Kilometers or 15 minutes from JY Square Mall.

We were grateful on this day because the OWNER of Doce Pares was the one who fetch us from JY SQUARE mall, he was there early and even waited 30 minutes after our scheduled time because one of my friend was late.

the service we used, but the one sitting on the driver's area is my friend so the one who took the picture is the driver..
